A Vegetarian Thanksgiving? And other recipes...

Happy Thanksgiving from Ithaca's Food Web!

Foodies around Ithaca are cooking like crazy this week. Here's what they're up to:

Julie at Savvy Eats offers her Thanksgiving menu, complete with a plan for getting everything done, a holiday cocktail, and 13 ways to use Thanksgiving leftovers.

Emma at Cayuga St. Kitchen makes magical root vegetables.

Amy at Eggs on Sunday has a great collection of Thanksgiving recipes and even more ideas from around the web.

Also, anyone planning a vegetarian feast? Might be tough to imagine a meatless Thanksgiving, but The New York Times Well Blog does it every year, offering vegetarian holiday recipes and drool-worthy photos. (And, if any of you dear readers are high school science teachers, you might want to check out the vegetarian lesson plan I wrote for the NYT Learning Network. PS I like veggies. I'm not a vegetarian).

And, if you're still confused about what to serve (or eat), how about trying the NYT Thanksgiving-erator to help you plan your meal?

  1. Too bad for you vegan geeks that our brains, as humans, are not made out of starches and carbs but fats and we lack the ability to digest ANYTHING with cellulose!
