Local food preserving group gets national recognition in book on canning

IthaCan has a wonderful write up in Sarah Hood's new book: We Sure Can!

The book features a collection of international canning advocates. Techniques, tips, recipes and a fine discussion of "how jams and pickles are reviving the lure and lore of local food" fill its pages.

Hood begins the book with a Grimm's fairytale, which turns on the importance of eating to the season.  She takes on some hot discussions as well, such as BPA in canning lids and the energy savings of local food.
