The movie "Homegrown" follows a family that runs an organic farm in the heart of urban Pasadena, California on just 1/5 of an acre. While living off the grid, they harvest over 6,000 pounds of produce, make their own bio diesel, power their computers with the help of solar panels, and maintain a website that gets 4,000 hits a day.

  1. I've read about this family in a magazine, but didn't know there was a movie. Thanks for sharing.

  2. You're welcome. There's also a really interesting website maintained by the family: http://www.pathtofreedom.com/

It has an amazing amount of detail on it, including lots of statistics about how much they grow, etc. Of course, they live in sunny Southern California!
