Cornell Cooperative Extension celebrates 100 years (10/14/13)

Celebrate with us on Monday, Oct. 14th!

Spend all or part of the Columbus Day holiday with us as CCE-Tompkins celebrates 100 years of service to Tompkins County!

Start the morning at 8:30 a.m. at 4-H Acres, 418 Lower Creek Road, with a delicious local foods breakfast buffet, while a panel of special guests revisit highlights of our history in Tompkins County. From 10:30 a.m. to Noon, sample our programs in free skill-building workshops on a variety of topics.

At 12:30 p.m., return with us to our Northside neighborhood and spend the afternoon at the Fall Harvest Festival for Kids at Neighborhood Pride Grocery, 212 Hancock Street. End the day with Centennial Celebration Cake at 4:00 p.m.
Events include:

Local Foods Breakfast 
Enjoy a local foods breakfast buffet catered by Allyn Rosenberg of New Roots School. Buffet includes pancakes with local maple syrup and butter, scrambled eggs, frittata, home fried potatoes , bacon, fresh fruit, scrambled tofu (vegan), apple cider and coffee/decaf/tea. Northside Baked Bean Championship
 Show off your bean-baking skills at the first-ever Northside Baked Bean Championship, held as part of our Fall Harvest Festival for Kids at Neighborhood Pride Grocery. Guest judges include Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick! Find contest rules and an entry form here.

Chicken BBQ
Will be sold all day, outside, by Neighborhood Pride.

Centennial Cake
Stop by at 4p.m. for a slice of Centennial Cake, courtesy of Neighborhood Pride Grocery!

Workshop Sampler
10:30a.m.-12:00p.m. Members of our staff will offer activities for youth plus FREE concurrent, skill-building workshops in 4 tracks: Communication, Leadership, Marketing & Fundraising, and Agriculture/Environment. Click the image at right for a full workshop list.

Fall Harvest Festival for Kids

12:30-4:30p.m. at Neighborhood Pride, 212 Hancock Street, Ithaca. Children of all ages are invited to enjoy hands-on, harvest-themed activities at our annual Fall Harvest Festival for Kids! See harvest foods being prepared and sample the results! Meet the Tompkins County Dairy Princess, and take a hayride through the Northside neighborhood.
