Farm Classes at the Ovid Library
All classes sponsored by the Delavan Foundation. Registration required!
Fruit Tree Pruning - Saturday, March 9th 10am-12:30pm. Learn how to train new trees and how to rejuvenate older trees. Held at Daring Drake Farm, 3046 County Road 138, Ovid. To register, contact the Ovid Library: 607-869-3031
Tree Grafting - Wednesday, April 3rd, 6-8:30pm. Learn the history, lore and mechanics of tree grafting with John Reynolds, Daring Drake Farm. Students will have hands-on practice doing a tongue and whip graft and leave class with a fruit tree to plant. Class fee $3/participant. Held at the Ovid Library, to register: 607-869-3031
Shiitake Mushroom Workshop - Saturday, April 20th 10am-1pm. Learn the basics of growing Shiitake mushrooms on hardwood logs with Steve Sierigk. Learn the drill-and-fill method in this hands-on workshop. Each participant will take home an inoculated log. Class fee $15/participant. Held at the Ovid Library, to register: 607-869-3031
