Recipe: Pasta with sausage and kale

For an easy, hearty, local meal, try this:

Pasta with Kale and Sausage

Bring a pot of water to a boil.

Meanwhile, in a separate pan, cook spicy Italian sausage over medium heat (you can remove it from its casing, or chop it into pieces once it's somewhat cooked).  Remove and set aside when browned, but reserve the pan and fat.

Once the water boils, add chopped kale (minus the stems) for about 5 minutes.  Remove the kale (with tongs or a snazzy colander insert) and drain excess water.

In the hot water that still remains in the pot, cook pasta.

Briefly saute the kale in the sausage grease.  Then toss the kale, sausage, and pasta together.  Yum.
