Announcements:

CLASS: Healthy Soils, Healthy Communities
Dilmun Hill and CCE Gardens 4 Humanity are holding a FREE CLASS this Saturday, May 7th from 10AM - 12PM at the BJM school garden on Court Street (next to the GIAC center). Come learn about the challenges of gardening in urban soils and what you can do to ensure a healthy garden! From 10-12AM, we'll discuss common sources of soil contaminants, tips for evaluating soil health, and low-cost management practices for a healthier garden. From 12-1PM, there will be a hands-on raised bed-building demonstration. Come for one session, or stay for both!

GARDEN WORK DAY
The BJM School Garden (on Court Street next to the GIAC entrance) will be having its first Community Work Day this Saturday, May 7th, from 12-2. BJM's after school program and three first grade classes have been participating in garden classes and starting seeds for the garden this winter and spring. The workday will include a hands-on raised bed-building demonstration from 12-1PM. Come to learn about the school garden project and lend a hand! All are welcome (especially children, supervised by their families)!

Hope to see you there! To sign-up, please contact Kristen at KAL52@cornell.edu.
