Announcement from Ithaca Crop Mob:
Ithaca Crop Mob at the Good Life Farm
WHERE: The Good Life Farm. 4017 Hickok Rd., Interlaken NY 14847
WHEN: Saturday, April 9th
Full Day Mob! Come when you can, stay as long as you like!
9 am-1 pm - morning session
1-2 pm - lunch (all are welcome! They make a good lunch up at The Good Life Farm...)
2- 4 pm - afternoon session
Please RSVP for a half day- morning or afternoon- or full day.
WHAT: Planting trees!
WHO: Mobbers of all ages
FARMERS: Garrett Miller and Melissa Madden
Melissa and Garrett farm off the grid using draft horses. Last season they hosted our very first mob and we planted organic apple trees with them. They are planting more trees this season, and have other spring farm tasks as well (last year there was a short intensive on laying drip irrigation too).
Both farmers are excellent educators as well as conscientious farmers. Pretty cool that we can learn from them while planting an orchard that will be around, producing fruit, for many years to come.
What to bring:
Please wear closed toed shoes, weather appropriate clothing, hat, and sunscreen.
Please bring full water bottles for yourselves.
Wear gloves if you have them.
If you have a digging spade/shovel, bring that along too.
Kids are welcome, supervised by their parents.
Please leave your pets at home.
How to sign up:
If you know for sure you'd like to come, please RSVP to ithacacropmob@gmail.com. We also welcome people showing up to lend a hand, even if you don't RSVP. Is this your first time crop mobbing? We would love to have you! Please include in your RSVP email any dietary restrictions or special circumstances we should know about.
