Making Friends with the Amish and Lowering Carbon Footprints

Perhaps we Ithacans can learn something from our Amish neighbors?

A community in Maine might offer such a model (reported in the Boston Globe).

    I had no idea that the Amish are ok with electricity as long as it is off the grid!

    Yeah, that is pretty surprising, isn't it? I wonder if different groups of Amish have different rules about that stuff.
