Movie screening and discussion about hunger in Tompkins County

Two upcoming screenings of "A Place at the Table" and discussions to follow:

The first screening will be on Thursday Oct 24, 6:00 – 9:00 PM at The Sustainability Center on 111 North Albany Street, Ithaca

A Place at the Table: A provocative documentary about hunger in America

The evening includes light refreshments and facilitated discussion about poverty, hunger, and our children here in Tompkins County. This event is part of GreenStar Community Project’s food system networking series, “Feeding Our Future.” It is one of hundreds of Food Day events being held nationwide on October 24 to draw public attention to our food system crisis.

Cosponsored by The Sustainability Center, Groundswell Center for Local Food & Farming, Food Bank of the Southern Tier, Green Resource Hub, Local First Ithaca, and other community partners. If your group would like to cosponsor for a contribution of $25, please contact Joanna Green at joanna@groundswellcenter.org.

Space is limited at this event, which includes facilitated discussion among participants.

A second screening will be held on October 28 at Cinemapolis, hosted by the Green Resource Hub.

On October 28th, we will be screening A Place at the Table, which powerfully depicts hunger in our nation, followed by a Q&A with panelists to bring this message home to our local reality in policy, jobs, food access, causes, and solutions.
