Cider Week FLX 2013: Celebrate Hard Cider in the Finger Lakes (10/4/13 - 10/13/13)

Announcement:

Finger Lakes Cider Alliance Presents the 2nd Annual Local Cider Week
The Finger Lakes Cider Alliance, a collaboration of local cider makers and orchardists, is hosting the 2nd Annual Finger Lakes Cider Week from October 4th to October 13th.
Anchored by the Ithaca Apple Festival on the first weekend, Cider Week offers a variety of tastings, cider dinners with local chefs, informative talks, local orchard tours, and a chance to talk with the cider makers behind the craft. A number of the events are family friendly.
Finger Lakes Cider Week is a celebration of one of our country's oldest alcoholic beverages, cider/hard cider.  This week of activities is patterned after the popular New York (City) Cider Week that is presenting its annual celebration later in October.  All things apple and cider are in the spotlight as the local cider alliance shows off the quality and versatility of a drink that has a rich history as an integral part of our nation's growth and a future that will help bolster the local economy and preserve small, high-quality orchards.  A leader in U.S. apple production, New York State is becoming a leader in the revival of this historic beverage.
Participating Cideries include, Red Byrd Cidery (Burdett), Eve's Cidery (Van Etten), and Bellwether Hard Cider (Trumansburg). Additional ciders will be sourced from Beak & Skiff (LaFayette), Harvest Moon Cidery (Cazenovia) and Steampunk (Medina).
