New service allows shoppers to order groceries online from P&C East Hill

Last spring, I got a note from one of the founders of "Rosie" -- an online service that allows you to order groceries online and either pick them up at the local grocery store or have them delivered (soon, they plan to launch an iPhone app).

Right now, the service is available through P&C Fresh at East Hill Plaza.

Here's what one representative from the company told me:
Rosie helps shoppers buy more local products by partnering with local grocery stores to put their items online. Whereas other online grocery shopping companies source their products from large warehouses and can only carry products from mass merchants, Rosie is able to offer the local products of community grocery stores. P&C Fresh in Ithaca for example, offers many local products including Proats, which are available through Rosie.

Rosie is not currently available on iTunes but will be in the next month or so. Currently however you can shop through Rosie by visiting www.rosieapp.com.

About Rosie:
Rosie saves customers stress by predicting household items they need, before they run out, and orders them at lowest price from local grocers and online retailers. Customers use Rosie on their mobile phones or through rosieapp.com. Rosie harnesses big data to power its patent pending machine learning algorithms, which provide targeted shopper marketing insights for retailers and a fast, smart, convenient shopping experience for customers.
