Farmshed CNY Hosts a Fabulous On-Farm Event To Kick Off Fall Apple Season!

What better way to celebrate the fall harvest in Central New York than to U-Pick fresh apples from Central New York’s only certified organic apple orchard!

On Sunday, September 22, 2013, Farmshed CNY will host a U-Pick Organic Apple Party at Adams Acres, in Jamesville, NY, from 10am to 2pm.  In addition to Adams Acres, eighteen vendors will gather on-site to sample some of the best local foods and farm products in Central New York.  Among them will be Main Street Farms, with organic veggies and aquaponic greens; Dutch Hill Farm, Empire Buffalo, and Shotwell Brook Farms, with pastured beef, pork, bison, chicken, and eggs; and Alambria Springs Farm and Kriemhild Dairy with brick-oven baked farmhouse breads and sweet cream Meadow butter.

There will also be plenty of prepared foods. Stir Mobile Eatery, Syracuse’s hottest food truck, will be serving gourmet burgers, sandwiches, and fries; and Half-Moon Bakery and The Sweet Praxis will be selling gourmet cupcakes and baked goods. Refreshments will be available from Owera Vineyards, Pompey Gold Vineyards, and Salt City Coffee.

Joining these regional farms and food producers will be Lime Hollow Natural and Earth2Soul, who will be offering handmade soaps and natural healing products.

Families and individuals from all over the region are invited to join Farmshed CNY and friends in celebrating this year’s bountiful apple harvest.  Entry is free and open to the public. U-Pick apples will be weighed out per pound. 100% organic cotton, Made in the USA “Grow Your Local” tote bags will be available at the event, and will hold about a peck each of apples.
