Mark Bittman visits Ithaca's Kitchen Theater

The Food Bank of the Southern Tier announces that on Wed., March 6 from 12-2pm, the Kitchen Theatre at 417 W. State St. in Ithaca, will host "Mark Bittman at The Kitchen!" with NY Times columnist & cookbook author Mark Bittman. This fun event will be filled with great food & culinary conversation. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.

Mark Bittman, whose "Minimalist" column ran in the Dining section of the New York Times for more than 13 years, is a Times Opinion columnist, the lead food writer for The Times Magazine, and a columnist for the Times Dining section. His books include the bestselling How to Cook Everything and the groundbreaking Food Matters, which explored the crucial connections among food, health, and the environment, & provided tangible guidance for Americans rethinking their diets.

Tickets are $25/person, which includes tastings from area restaurants including: Agava, Fine Line Bistro, Ithaca Bakery, & Simeon's and can be purchased online at www.foodbankst.org or at the door. Advanced purchase is recommended as limited quantities are available.

Lunch will be followed by culinary conversation with Mark Bittman and opportunities to have him autograph your favorite cookbook! Buffalo Street Books will have some of Mark's cookbooks on hand for purchase at the event.
