Local food restaurants in Ithaca and the region

Where can you find restaurants serving local food in Ithaca and the Finger Lakes?

Several different organizations are working on local food restaurant directories:
Get Your Greenback - Tompkins!
Farmshed CNY

Also, the Food and Health Network of South Central New York just sent out this call for local foods resources:

Local food resources needed

The Food and Health Network is requesting your input on a listing of local food resources! Please send us the names of any restaurants, retailers, and institutions (hospitals, schools, senior centers, etc.) that you know of, which are offering local food options on a regular basis to its patrons. We also welcome suggestions on other local food, farm, and sustainability attractions that visitors may enjoy. The following counties are included in the FaHN region: Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, Tioga, and Tompkins.

The list will appear in the Regional Food System Assessment for South Central NY (FSA). Published by FaHN for the first time in 2011, the FSA offers a comprehensive illustration of our regional food system. The report will be annually updated, with the 2012 FSA to be released at the Rural Health Network of SCNY's Growing Health conference October 16-17. To view a downloadable PDF of the 2011 FSA, visit the FaHN website. The comprehensive list of local food, farm, and sustainability attractions will also appear on the FaHN website.

Lastly, we invite you to share any photos you have that illustrate our regional food system. With your permission, we would like to use the photos in the FSA and at the Growing Health conference to help us show the story of community food systems in our area!

Please send all suggestions and photos to Diane Albrecht at dianealbrecht1@gmail.com. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the FaHN coordinators at rhsc-rf@rhnscny.org or (607) 692-7669.

We thank you in advance for your suggestions and photos!
