March 8th, 2012 at 4pm in Mann Library, Cornell University

Join Dr. Pinstrup-Andersen for a "Chats in the Stacks" talk about his new book “Food Policy for Developing Countries: The Role of Government in Global, National, and Local Food Systems” (Cornell University Press). His book is a comprehensive road map for understanding how governments and markets shape food policies and production, and addresses the complex challenges that lie ahead in view of poverty, globalization, climate change, food price volatility, natural resource degradation, demographic and dietary transitions, and increasing interests in local and organic food production. Coauthor is economist Derrill Watson II of the American University of Nigeria. A reception and book signing will follow. The "Chats in the Stacks" book talk is funded by the Mary A. Morrison Public Education Fund at Mann Library.
