IthaCan hosts first product and jar fair

Recently, members of the local food preserving group, IthaCan, gathered at a member's home to trade food and supplies.

One organizer said that the event was a great success, with at least two dozen trades made. Eggs, fresh storage vegetables, liquored fruit, dried herbs, commercially vacuum packed grain, and canned goods, prepared by water bath and pressure canning, were among the goodies traded. Discounted canning jars were also sold.
