Course: New Farmer Training Project

Announcement from Groundswell:

The Groundswell Center for Local Food & Farming in Ithaca is now accepting applications for two of its upcoming programs: the Summer Practicum in Sustainable Farming & Local Food Systems and the New Farmer Training Project. Applications for these two food and farming education programs are now online at www.groundswellcenter.org.

The first program, the New Farmer Training Project, is a 100-hour, April-November hands-on and classroom training experience for aspiring farmers and market gardeners that offers a "Sustainable Farming Certificate" upon completion. The second program, the Summer Practicum in Sustainable Farming & Local Food Systems, is a 6-credit TC3/Groundswell course that offers a 8-week intensive that involves immersion at West Haven Farm in Ithaca as well as classroom time and field trips to area farms. We have several partial and full scholarships available for limited resource trainees interested in enrolling in our programs.
