Announcement: Community Food Security Dialogue

Announcement:

Please join us (and bring friends, colleagues, and family) to help create a more just and sustainable food system in Tompkins County!

What: Community Food Security Dialogue
Where: Greater Ithaca Activities Center (GIAC), 301 West Court Street
When: Wednesday January 19, 6:30 - 8:00 pm
(child care and a light meal will be available)
Many people in the Ithaca area are interested in improving our community's food security. This is one of several events exploring:
-how a food policy council might support an equitable and sustainable food system for all
-how to meet the diverse needs of our neighborhoods
-how buying clubs, urban agriculture, and food preservation and safety could help promote food security.

Jemila Sequeira, director of the Whole Community Project, is one of the guiding forces behind the initiative. She was a 2009, the Cornell University Public Service Center fellow featured in two community dialogues on Health and Food Security.
