NOFA-NY, an organic certifier and promoter of sustainable regional food systems, has launched its first ever NYS Locavore Challenge for the month of September.
What's on the menu for those who have taken on the challenge? Each person has a different approach. On the Locavore Challenge blog, eaters have described a bit about what they're eating, like a breakfast of hard boiled egg and garden lemonbalm/mint tea with local honey and a lunch of Leftover farro, corn, tomato salad spiced with red onion (East Hill Farm), hot pepper (Clearview Farm), local cheddar cheese, and a fried egg. NOFA-NY staff is posting regularly so check out the blog for inspiration.
