The 2009 Rutabaga Curl marked the end of another successful farmers market season here in Ithaca.
The Rutabaga Curl is a sporting event that draws about 80 competitors to hurl rutabagas down a runway, attempting to get as close to a cone as possible without passing it. This year, Lauretta Dolch took first place by rolling her rutabaga to within 6 inches of the cone.
