Meet your meat

On Sunday, October 25, 2009, hundreds of people showed up at Ithaca's first ever Local Meat Tasting and Education Fair.  

Tastings of mutton sausage, beef stroganoff, sausage tortellini, chicken stew, and more were a highlight of the event.  Chef Sean O’Brien of Serendipity Catering prepared the samples.  

Interested consumers also chatted with farmers, viewed informational displays, and asked questions at the event, which was held at the Women's Community Building at Cayuga and Seneca.  Tim from Autumn Harvest Farm said that his stack of brochures ran out early -- many vendors didn't realize how popular the event would be.
