The local food dilemma

Eating locally has been promoted by activists and food producers, but some say eating food grown locally or organically is NOT the best way to green our food system.

Last week on NPR Science Friday, three experts described the reasons for and against eating local, organic, and conventional food.

...discussed questions like:
Is radically reducing our meat consumption more important than eating locally?
Is it more environmentally friendly to eat local grain-fed beef or grass-fed beef from afar?
Should we buy produce from the third world if it supports poor farmers there?
