Community food organizer honored for civic leadership

Jemila Sequeira has been honored with the Cornell Civic Leaders Fellowship, an award that supports problem-solving community leaders with a $5,000 stipend for a specific initiative.  The award supports Jemila's work with Gardens for Humanity and recognizes her more than 20 years of civic leadership.  Jemila is the coordinator of CCE-TC’s Whole Community Project, which aims to ensure that every child in Tompkins County has healthy food and active play opportunities.
