Canning Makes a Comeback

Canning makes a comeback, according to this article in the New York Times.

But we knew that already, thanks to Ithaca's local canning group, IthaCan, which now has 110 members.

What is canning?  Canning is one method of preserving food in which the food is heated and sealed in an airtight container.  

If you're new to the idea, Cornell Cooperative Extension-Tompkins County is hosting several "how to can" events this summer.
